Pete and Shaffer did venture out onto the lake with the GPS in the bombardier. We have two sleeper groups out there this weekend and they were surprised that the guys made it out there. At times the visibility was zero today. The fish were biting though and the guys were having fun out there and said they were not going to step one foot outdoors today. They were happy. The weather is turning colder today with lows tonight from -20 to -25 degrees and the high for tomorrow is -5. We have a couple of groups fishing with portables but haven't gotten a report from them yet. Will try and hook up with them tonight and find out how they are doing. Resorts are not letting wheel fish houses onto the lake yet - it is too early. Waiting for more ice.

December 3, 2007: Pete went out on the lake on a hovercraft yesterday to check the ice. They found 6-8 inches of ice depending on how far out you go. We are having the crossing cleared with large equipment today as it has lots of ice shoved up on it and we cannot cross over without getting this done. We plan on taking fish houses onto the lake Tuesday as long as the crossing gets cleared off. Haven't heard any fishing reports yet but there are some portables on the lake. We got around 6 inches of snow yesterday.

December 1, 2007: Pete checked the ice today finding anywhere from 4 inches to 6 inches of ice. He said it is 6 inches out to 13-14 ft of water with lots of slush underneath the ice.Looks pretty much unfishable. At 18 ft of water the ice thinned down to 4 inches with good water clarity and no slush caught under the ice. There were 6 or 7 portables fish houses on the lake already and a few wheelers on the ice. Also around 8 spear houses set up on Four Mile Bay near the Morris Point area. Still too thin for us to take any houses out but anticipate getting on the ice this Monday or Tuesday. Will keep checking the ice thickness and let you know. We received around 2-3 inches of snow today as of 6pm.
